【DESCRIPTION】 Title Vintage Coloful History Book w/illsutrations Publication Year Meiji period (1868-1912) Japanese Style Stiched Binding
This is a Chinese history book with beautiful illustrations published in Meiji period! There are many colorful pages showing maps of China, from period Zhou, Qin, Han, Three states, Sung and so on. You can see how they learned Chinese history at the time. Pages are listing names of historical emperors and their information.
The title is 'Juu-hasshi ryaku' which literately means 18 histories. This was originaly editted by Sou Sensi in Yuan period (AD1279-1368), covering history from hree Sovereigns [August Ones] and the Five Emperors to Southern Song (1127〜1279). This was written in chronologic form.
It is said 'Juu-hasshi ryaku' is structured by extracts from other historical books to understangi Chinese history easily.
