【DESCRIPTION】 TITLE Interesting Tabaco Catalogue Publication year 1987
This item contains many photos of many kinds of tabaco and ones showing its history in Japan such as drawing or Ukiyoe from Edo period(17c-19c). You can see over its history from Edo period though to Showa period(20c). It is said the tabaco came into Japan during 15th century.
In Ukiyoe and some drawings, we can see people are smoking Kiseru. Kiseru is an old style Japanese smoking pipe. Kiseru were used for smoking a wide variety of substances, including tobacco, cannabis, and opium.
You can also enjoy colorful vintage designs of Tabaco packages or advertisements. There are also some photos of Tabaco-bon (sort of ashtray in Edo period) and kiseru. Most of photos are printed in color.
Even if you don't understand Japanese,you can enjoy this book through many photos.
