This item contains many photos of beautiful dyeing and embroidery Kimono works and clothes including Yuzen.
In the first part of this item, titled 'Beauty of textile and dyeing', it shows 94 beautiful Kimono including 28 works of Yuzen. There are photos of Furisode, Tomesode, Houmon-gi(formal kimono) and Uchikake.
All are printed in color on fine quality paper.
In some photos you can see the whole designs of kimono and also details.
Designs in this item One design is printed in one page so you can enjoy those wonderful designs in large format.
In the second part, titled 'People and their home'(page 95-260), there are many photos(includes B&W photos) of people making Kimono -dyeing,texturing, drawing... You can see beautiful traditional scenes in Japan and nature scenes, too.
In the third part, 'Designs and colors' (page 243-274), many all colored photos of designs of clothes are shown. They are also ones of Tsumugi and Kumihimo works.
The preface says,
'Japanese textile-dyeing vary from traditional hand-made ones to quantity-production ones. This variety is the uniqueness of Japanese textile-dyeing.
All works in this book were made mainly by hand by traditional techniques of dyeing and texturing. It is a surprize to see that various works.
There are beautiful designs, four seasons and changing nature shown in those desings. There we can see 'Japanese' beauty'...
There are English pages at the end of this book(of course list of plates, and glossary pages too). Through the comments by Tomoyuki Yamanobe, you will learn more about Japanese texiles.
The designs in this item vary. All of them are exquisite and fablous.
Even if you don't understand Japanese, you will enjoy this book through many photos.
