This item, devided into 3 volumes, contains total 130 beautiful designs of Fabulous Textile-Dyeing including 10 Important Cultural Assets, Yuzen and Tsujigahana. All designs in this item are printed in color on fine quality paper. One design is printed in one page so you can enjoy those wonderful designs in large format.
In the preface, CEO of Kanebou Cooperation says; 'Our company has been collecting many traditional textile-dyeing works all over the world and has preserved those in our latest facility. This time we published this book to contribute to texile-dyeing culture. We selected gorgeous 130 works for this book from our over 10000 collections, and those are mainly from Momoyama period(around 16c). There are some works of Tsujigahana, Nuihaku(Japanese embroidery and impressed gold foils), Chaya-zome*, Yuzen* and some registered as Important Cultural Assets in Japan. Japanese textile-dyeing has long history and process influenced by 'Silk Road'. We are happy if we can give good opportunity for people to find its beauty that lasts since ancient time to today'...
*Yuzen is a technique of a Kimono which gives an outline with the paste which achieves the duty of a bank so that dye may not be mixed. Its feature is the delicate white outline of a pattern which appears when washed at the process of finish.
*Chaya-zome generally refers to cloth made of thin, high quality bast fibers, principally dyed in shades of blue. Chaya-zome is a paste-resist technique characterized by delicate thin lines that produce elaborate depictions of plants, mountains and rivers.
*Kanebou Cooperation,Kracie Holdings, Ltd. today is one of biggest company in Japan which provides groceries, medicines, food and so on.
As said in the preface, works in this item are mainly from Momoyama period and Edo period(17-19c). The designs in this item vary. All of them are exquisite and fabulous.
