This item doesn't contain photos -contains real threads for Nishijin Kimono!
You can see the real colors of pieces of Kimono and touch those by your fingers!
There are 23 thick pages threads attached, and each page contains approx 18 colors of threads.
On the cover it says 'Shin(New) Nishijin, 60th anniversary', so this can be assumed to be published to commemorate 60th anniversary of Nishijin textile-dyeing study group or something.
Nishijin is a traditional textile produced in Kyoto.
Nishijin weaving was supported by the patronage of both the Imperial court and great samurai lords, including Nobunaga Oda and his successor Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
The weavers also continued to adop new technology. By the early Edo Period in the 17th century, there were some7,000 looms crammed into an ara of 1.6 square kilometers.
Crowds of merchants gathered daily at the auction house, located on the site as the current Nishijin Textile Center, frequently bidding up prices to astronomical levels.
Threads in this item still have vivid beautiful colors!
The gradation of those colors is beautiful.
Through this item, you can feel the beautiful colors of Nishijin Kimono.
