This item contains all colored 100 photos of beautiful Kaga Komon.
Komon is a kind of Kimono and Edo Komon, Kyo Komon and Kaga Komon are well known as the technique.
Kaga Komon spread to women in Samurai Family and was well used for daily clothes in Edo period.
Housai Furuta, born in 1936, is an designer of Kaga-zome(dyeing), and was a pupil of Uzan Kimura, a Living National Treasure for Kaga Yuzen.
He has been sent to Europe as a cultural ambassador from Kanazawa City in Ishikawa (which called Kaga), and have experience to make Yuzen designs for Imperial Family.
In 2002, he got a prize of testimonial for Kaga Yuzen.
In the preface an expert of traditional textile-dyeing says,
'There are many book talking about Kaga Yuzen, but this would be the first time to put designs of Kaga Komon in one book. Mr. Housai Furuta has over 200 designs of Komon, and this is great chance to see 100 valuable designs from his collection'...
