>Volume 1. Syousouin Gire -Old cloths stored in Shousouin Syousouin is the treasure house built in Nara in 756. Many culturally and historically important items are stored in this warehouse. You will see many photos of old but beautiful cloths in Asuka and Nara period (6c-8c).
>Volume 2. Kosode and Noh Costume Kosode is the ancestor of present-day Kimono. Noh is a major form of classic Japanese musical drama that has been performed since the 14th century. Kosode is used for Noh costumes. You will see many photos of beautiful Kosode and various kind of its designs.
>Volume 3. Yuzen and Komon Yuzen is one way to dye fabrics and it is a typical way to do in Japan. Yuzen cloths are colorful and the designs are mostly about aminals, plants, landscape and so on. Komon has a small pattern of design of kimono. This book contains many photos of Yuzen an Komon design kimono.
>Volume 4. Kasuri and Tsumugi Kasuri and Tsumugi are words for fabric that have been woven with fibers dyed specifically to create patterns and images in the fabric. This book also contains the photos of textiles in Indonesiam the Philippines and Malaysia. It will be fun to compare those each other.
